AFTER 19 YEARS, NIGERIA RETURNS TO THE TOP OF AFRICAN FOOTBALL

Nigeria won the 2013 African Cup of Nation in front of around 87,000 fans at Soccer City in South Africa on Sunday after beating Burkina Faso 1-0 in the final of the continental title. Nigerians returns to the top again in African football after 19 years, which they last won in 1994. Some of the African countries that have lifted the trophy are Egypt (7 times), Ghana (4 times), and Cameroon (4 times). The next continental title will come up in 2016.

Samsung Fair Player of the Tournament: Victor Moses (Nigeria)

Orange Man of the Tournament: Jonathan Pitroipa (Burkina Faso)

Pepsi Tournament Top Scorer: Emmanuel Emenike (Nigeria)

Nissan Goal of the Tournament: Youssef El Msakni (Tunisia)
