Tourism has become one of the largest industries worldwide and continues to grow rapidly in Southern Africa contributing to gains in employment, trade and investment. Namibia tourism is the fastest growing sector and the third largest contributor to Namibia GDP after mining and fishing.
This sector has created income and means of living for the populations. It preserves the national resources that serve as a base for the tourism industry. The world economy travel and tourism competitive index has ranked Namibia among the top five countries in Sub-Sahara Africa.
These are some of the highlighted points in the concluded seminar organized by Embassy of Namibia in Stockholm in partnership with Swedish-Southern African Chamber of Commerce (SSACC) and Air Namibia.
