It’s always hard to get excited about autumn because then you have to accept that winter is that much closer and there’s really no excitement in that. BUT I am the kind of person who always looks for the bright side of things, and the bright side of fall is definitely the opportunity fall fashion gives you. Since fall is getting closer and closer by the day, it’s only fitting that we start looking at some pieces that can make the transition to fall as smooth and effortless as possible.
So the first thing you need is a turtle neck. It’s a timeless piece that never goes out of styleand has that swag to put your outfit over the top effortlessly. However for the transitional season you should hold out on wearing merino wool or cashmere — go for the lighter ones, as they are more breathable and can also easily be layered and so you will not overheat!
The next thing you need is a pair of boots. It can’t be overstated how important footwear is: It can literally break or make your outfit, and with the unpredictable weather the transitional season is known for, boots also guarantee good protection for your feet. With footwear being one of the most important pieces of any outfit; you can’t hope to make a smooth transition without a pair.
It’s a bit of a little unorthodox choice, but I love white trousers during the colder months and think they can give that extra edginess to your look if done correctly. The key to wearing white trousers in the colder months is to style them with neutral and earth colored items. In this way you will be good to go by adding an elegant touch from your wardrobe.
And then to one of the finishing touches to your outfit that you is a must-have – one because it keeps you warm and two because it makes you look stylish: the scarf. It is also something that you should invest in for the transitional season.
The last touch – which is for a more practical reason – is an umbrella. With the typical Scandinavian weather being what it is, it would be a disaster to get caught without one!
