Zimbabwe National Teams represented Africa continent in the Olympic development matches which was played in Ugglumskolan at the Partille Cup 2013. Among other countries that were chosen for the Olympic Development were China, Chile, England, Scotland and USA. The project was designed to help the development of handball in the countries where the game is not fully developed through acquisition of skills from basic education in handball in both theory and practice. The Olympic matches also create platform for handball family through friendship and shared experiences. Skandik Afrik crew asked Lesley Chikadaya, the group captain for the Girls under 21 from Zimbabwe after the match they lost to USA (31-14), she said the friendly match had boosted their confidence and that they have learnt a lot in the match with the USA and intend to improve on their mistakes when the real tournament begin on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the Partille Cup begin in full fledge today at 8 different arenas which spread across different areas in Gothenburg. African countries that have arrived so far for the tournaments are Egypt, Kenya, Nigeria and more teams from Zimbabwe.
